Minuet- 3rd Year Animation Project

'Minuet follows the story of a mouse and a talented young girl who plays piano. When unforeseen circumstances put her piano recital in jeopardy, an unlikely friendship just might save the day...'

Minuet is our final, 3rd year animation project at Escape Studios. I was the Lead story board artist on this project- and as such heavily involved in the writing and early planning of the story.

The relationship between the girl and the mouse was an important one, and I tried to capture how their friendship might play out during and after the short in concept art pieces. From the start we knew that we wanted the mouse to be able to dance and play the keys gracefully- so this is something that I planned out, even in the early concepts.

Mapping out such a large project clearly, through storyboards, was vital- and still translates through to the final product.
